.de Domain Registration and Management

Public rules, data requirements, technical options, and current service status for .de domains handled through RankingAI.

Last updated: August 13, 2026

Controlled rollout

Public ordering not enabled

RankingAI OÜ is listed by DENIC as a member. Public self-service .de ordering and payment collection are not yet enabled while controlled production readiness and the first managed-domain workflow are completed. A general enquiry does not trigger a registration, transfer, change, or charge.

Before any live .de transaction, RankingAI must confirm the exact domain and procedure, holder and contact data, requester authority, DNS information where applicable, total price and taxes, and the current DENIC terms. Email [email protected] for a manually reviewed enquiry.

2. Who can register and how registration works

.de domains are generally open to private individuals, organisations, and companies in Germany or abroad. Registration follows the first-come, first-served principle, subject to availability, correct and complete holder data, the DENIC Domain Terms and Conditions and Domain Guidelines, technical requirements, applicable law, and third-party rights.

  • The domain holder enters into the domain contract directly with DENIC, even where a DENIC member handles the application and administration.
  • The holder must have legal capacity, be entitled to register and use the name, and ensure that registration or use does not infringe third-party rights or law.
  • A requested domain is not reserved by an enquiry. Registration is confirmed only after DENIC successfully completes the registry transaction.
  • If a holder is outside Germany, DENIC may under its terms require an authorised representative in Germany for service of official or court documents in the circumstances and period stated by DENIC.

See DENIC's official registration information.

3. Holder data and verification

The holder must provide complete, accurate, current, and verifiable information. Depending on the holder and procedure, this includes the full name or full legal organisation name and legal form, postal address, email address, telephone number, and evidence of identity, organisation, or representative authority where required.

  • RankingAI may verify contact channels and compare data with reliable public or documentary sources before submission.
  • DENIC may verify new or existing holder data. If independent verification is not possible, RankingAI may be asked to clarify the data with the holder and provide the result.
  • The holder must cooperate with a verification request and promptly correct inaccurate data. Failure to verify or correct data can affect connectivity or continuation of the domain contract under DENIC's rules.
  • After registration, the holder should check the domain data through DENIC's official domain query and report necessary corrections promptly.

See DENIC's holder-data verification information and RankingAI's Domain Registration Data Policy.

4. Nameservers, connectivity, and DNSSEC

A .de domain needs technically valid connectivity data. RankingAI will request and confirm the intended DNS arrangement before a live registration or DNS change.

  • Nameserver delegation: one or more authoritative nameservers meeting DENIC's technical requirements.
  • NSentry: where suitable, limited A, AAAA, or MX records may be stored directly in the .de zone under DENIC's current restrictions.
  • DNSSEC: may be used where supported. The customer or DNS operator must ensure submitted key material matches the active signed zone; incorrect or stale data can make the domain fail validation.
  • The necessary technical conditions must be established within the period required by DENIC. A domain contract may terminate if required connectivity is not established in time.

Technical references: nameserver and NSentry information and DNSSEC information.

5. Terms, language, and privacy

Any .de service through RankingAI is subject to RankingAI's Terms of Service and the DENIC rules in force when the request is submitted. DENIC states that its German-language terms and guidelines are legally binding; English versions are provided for convenience.

RankingAI may transmit the data required for a confirmed .de procedure to DENIC and necessary technical providers. No internal DENIC account identifier, confidential registry price, password, authentication value, or production credential is published on this page.

6. Transfers, changes, renewal, and deletion

Registrar transfers, holder changes, contact-data corrections, DNS changes, DNSSEC updates, renewal handling, deletion, and other .de procedures require requester authentication and authority checks and remain subject to current DENIC rules and technical results. A domain subject to a DENIC DISPUTE entry or Registry Lock may have additional restrictions.

RankingAI will not perform a live change solely from an informal message. The exact domain, procedure, authorised requester, affected data, and consequences must be confirmed first.

7. Abuse, complaints, and support

See the Abuse Handling Policy and Complaints Procedure. Registry-level rights and procedures under DENIC's current rules remain unaffected.
