Who may register a .eu domain

An applicant must meet at least one EURid eligibility condition. Eligible applicants include:

  • a citizen of an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway, regardless of residence;
  • a natural person who is not such a citizen but resides in an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway;
  • an undertaking established in an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway; or
  • an organisation established in an EU Member State, Iceland, Liechtenstein or Norway, without prejudice to national law.

RankingAI checks eligibility before submitting a live request and may request supporting evidence. EURid may verify eligibility and registration data before or after delegation.

Registration data and verification

The registrant must provide complete, accurate and current information, including the registrant's full legal name or organisation name, full address, functioning email address, telephone number, requested domain name, preferred communication language and, where eligibility depends on citizenship while residing outside the eligible region, country of citizenship.

The registrant email address must belong to the registrant unless the registrant expressly requests otherwise. RankingAI may verify a contact method and may request identity, incorporation, address, representative-authority or other reliable evidence. Customers must notify RankingAI promptly when registration data changes. Our public verification and disclosure procedure is described in the Domain Registration Data Policy.

Customer instruction and acceptance record

RankingAI registers a .eu domain only on the registrant's specific instruction. Before a live request is submitted, the registrant or authorised representative must review and accept the then-current EURid Terms and Conditions and applicable Rules. RankingAI records the instruction, accepted document or URL and version/date, acceptance timestamp, registrant identity and contact information so that acceptance can be demonstrated to EURid where required.

Availability and pricing

Domain availability can be checked using EURid's official WHOIS service. Availability results are not a reservation or guarantee; the registry result at the time a valid live request is processed controls.

Check .eu availability at EURid

RankingAI does not currently offer public self-service .eu checkout. Before accepting a manually reviewed request, RankingAI provides a written quote showing the total service price, registry or handling charges, applicable tax, payment method and any other charge. No live registry transaction is submitted without the customer's confirmation. Registry transactions may become final and non-refundable once submitted, subject to mandatory law and the applicable EURid rules.

Registration period, renewal and transfers

  • .eu registration periods may range from one to ten years where supported.
  • The registration term is normally renewed for consecutive one-year periods unless renewal is stopped in time under the applicable process.
  • Customers must keep sufficient contact details and respond to verification or renewal notices.
  • Transfers and registrant changes require the authority, authentication and data required by EURid's current procedure.
  • A domain registration grants a conditional right of use under the EURid Rules; it does not create an unrestricted property right.

Privacy and registry data processing

RankingAI collects and transmits registration data to EURid to carry out the requested registry procedure. EURid independently processes registry data as a data controller for operation of the .eu registry, verification, security, WHOIS, dispute and legal purposes. See our Privacy Policy and EURid's Privacy Policy.

Abuse, complaints and disputes

DNS abuse, phishing, malware, spam, fraud, illegal content and registrar security concerns should be reported to abuse@rankingai.com. See our Abuse Handling Policy. Service complaints should be sent to complaints@rankingai.com. Domain-name right disputes may be subject to EURid's Alternative Dispute Resolution rules or a competent court.
